Peeta's memories have been twisted while he was at the Capitol, and the majority of the book includes Katniss trying to help Peeta clear his mind and recall the true past. I loved/hated the book because the end of the book was both sad and disappointing, but I can see why Suzanne ended it this way - she had put the characters through so much already.
