Impossible Impossible by Nancy Werlin

My review

rating: 3 of 5 stars
I like the idea of this book. Modern characters tangling with a medieval curse. The bad guy was appropriately creepy, but somehow I feel like everything was too easy. (Okay, okay, I've never had to plow an acre of land by hand while having contractions. It's hard, i get it.) But her parents were ridiculously supportive, and there was barely any angst about true love. I'll believe in an ancient elvin curse, but a couple of teenagers who don't even have to question where the other loves them back, that's a little far fetched.

Knitting Rules!: The Yarn Harlot's Bag of Knitting Tricks Knitting Rules!: The Yarn Harlot's Bag of Knitting Tricks by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
I think it's probably obvious that I love the Yarn Harlot's books, but this one is the one I would buy. Along with the funny stories about her own knitting adventures, it also contains really useful basic patterns, information and definitions that new knitters would appreciate.

Knit and Stitch Help

For any knitting club member, and anyone else who may be interested, here are a few of my favorite knitting links:

Free Knitting Patterns

Knitting Help- Great for videos, a glossary, and lots of explanations about anything knitting related. (Note, use the English videos when available, not the Continental.)

YouTube also has many knitting videos. This one shows the cast on method that we use.

This one is similar to the cast on I use for my projects.

Here
is a simple knit stitch.

Here is a simple pearl stitch.

And here is a simple bind off.

And finally, for the coolest new patterns, try Knitty.com.
