Lady Ashton is going to have a child, so to calm her nerves, the Ashton houshold goes to the East where it is very cold. Lady Ashton thinks they are going to Italy, on the beach, but is sadly mistaken. Penelope and the children go to hte inn and meet mysterious people. My favorite character is Penelope because she is respectful, but is curious and doesn't take "no" for an answer. I liked this book because it was entertaining and funny.
